The RCE-VIHSCM has been organizing short courses since 2015. These courses are thoughtfully designed to empower health supply professionals and managers with the latest knowledge and skills needed to navigate the complex landscape of healthcare supply chains and vaccine management and in alignment with national and regional emergencies in the EAC region.
The RCE uses a highly interactive and participatory training approach. The impacts of the trainings are measured through standardized key performance indicators. To date, over 200 participants have attended these courses.
As many of these courses are also used as the teaching blocks of the RCE-VIHSCM Master in HSCM, the highest academic and practical standards are maintained. Most courses are one weeklong, allowing busy HSC workers to receive continuing education with minimal disruption of their services.
Also, in partnership with regional and international pharmaceutical and vaccine manufacturers and regulators, the Centre conducts Upskilling programmes to facilitate practical exposure to its trainees through internships, site visits, and exchange programmes.
