The University of Rwanda/EAC Regional Centre of Excellence for Vaccines, Immunization and Health Supply Chain Management (EAC/RCE-VIHSCM) celebrated the graduation of its latest cohort of the Mater’s in Health Supply Chain Management students. This milestone event took place during the 10th Graduation Ceremony of the University of Rwanda, on 25th October 2024 at the UR Huye Stadium.
This year’s graduating class comprises 38 students from the EAC Partner States who throughout their 2 years of study demonstrated great commitment to contributing to development of the health supply chains in the EAC region. During this period, the students engaged in comprehensive coursework, hands-on projects and collaborative research, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to manage and improve the health supply chain management system in the region.
One of the graduates, Mr. Ambrose Jakira, a pharmacist with the Ministry of Health Uganda, expressed his excitement about completing the Master’s programme in Health Supply Chain Management. “We are very grateful for the opportunity to have attended this program. It was a comprehensive learning experience, and I feel more prepared than ever to be a supply chain management leader, both within my country, across East Africa, and on the global stage,” Jakira said.
Since 2017, the EAC RCE-VIHSCM has successfully graduated 3 first cohorts consisting of 97
graduates from EAC Partner States, making this year the 4th Cohort.
The MHSCM Programme is a 2-year modular course consisting of 4 semesters, delivered with a
blended learning approach combining face-to-face, online and field placements, ensuring optimal
transfer of competencies and minimizing disruption of participants’ work obligations in their
home countries.
The EAC RCE also offers the MSc. In Pharmaceutical Analysis and Quality Assurance (MPAQA) and will soon launch 2 other program namely; the Master of Science in Vaccinology and the Master of Science in Regulatory Affairs.
