The EAC RCE-VIHSCM is delighted to have led and conducted an advanced Lab Testing and Lot Release (LR) training from October 27 to November 7, 2024, in Cairo, Egypt for 17 participants from all East African Partner States.
The training aimed to enhance their expertise in vaccine immunology, quality control techniques, analytical testing, and lot release protocols, thereby boosting their expertise in vaccine quality control and safety.
Dr. Jean Paul from the EAC Vaccines Centre of Excellence highlighted the value of the program, noting, “The trainees appreciated and gained a comprehensive set of skills and knowledge that can be directly applied to their roles in the pharmaceutical, biomanufacturing, vaccine production, and healthcare sectors. These skills are directly relevant to our professional roles in the EAC within the pharmaceutical, academic, and healthcare industries.”
The training, which combined lectures with practical demonstrations, plays a key role in strengthening regional capacities and ensuring professionals are equipped to navigate the complexities of vaccine safety and quality.
This initiative was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the University of Rwanda/EAC RCE-VIHSCM and the Egypt Drug Authority.
