EAC RCE-VIHSCM conducts Validation Workshop for its Master’s Program in Health Supply Chain Management

In his opening remarks, Prof. Abraham Mitike, Principal of UR’s College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS), underscored the significance of this activity.

“The curriculum being validated today has been carefully reviewed to strengthen the human resource capacities of professionals in the field, with the goal of building a regional pool of health supply chain management (HSCM) leaders who can continuously improve HSCM systems performance across the region"

University of Rwanda Vice Chancellor, Prof. Muganga Didas addresses participants at the MHSCM validation workshop

Day 2 of the workshop saw the courteous visit from the University of Rwanda Vice Chancellor, Prof. Muganga Didas who joined the participants to acknowledge their contribution. He commended their efforts in ensuring the program meets the highest standards. ‘Thank you all very much for your noble role in strengthening the quality of this program, which will ultimately benefit not only Rwanda but the entire East African Community,’ he stated.

The validation process ensures that the curriculum meets quality standards and aligns with regional health workforce needs before submission to the Rwanda Higher Education Council (HEC) for approval.
Since its launch in 2017, the MHSCM program has successfully graduated five cohorts, with two additional cohorts currently enrolled. In line with EAC quality assurance guidelines for higher education, curriculum reviews are conducted at the end of each delivery cycle to ensure academic excellence and relevance.
