Since 2017, the RCE-VIHSCM is delivering a Master Degree in Health Supply Chain Management

The aim of this programme is to strengthen human resource capacity of the staff, including managers, working in health supply chain systems across the EAC. The programme also aims at creating a regional pool of health supply chain management researchers to generate necessary evidence in order to continuously improve health supply chain management systems performance in the region. The two-year programme is delivered through a blended learning approach:

  • Residential Learning: Face to face teaching, practical and structured exercises
  • Distance learning: online teaching (reference readings, online mentoring, technical forum and regular online assignments)
  • Field placements: Deployment of students to different institutions and organizations handling different health supply chain functions in order to link acquired theoretical knowledge with practice, identify gaps in the systems and apply knowledge acquired to respond to these gaps.    
  • Applied research project: Sound research topic selection, research methodology development, data collection, dissertation of mini-thesis and presentation
